When we introduce a pool and a grassy area from an ecological chain into the white box space, after one week of the exhibition, mosquitoes willlayeggs and hatch in the ceramic artwork and the pool. In the pitch-black gallery, the audience use flashlights to explore the movingimages, monitoring them ashumanbeing,theywillbeinvited to pick up the kettle by the poolside (containing mosquito repellent and alcohol) to eliminate the mosquitoes bred within the installation.
Frogs are originally natural predators of mosquitoes, a part of the ecological chain. However, in the present context, theybecomefrozenfrogs, symbolizing the absence of specific onein the system cycle. The act of using the water spray bottle to repel mosquitoes can be associated with the experience of “disinfect.“Nowtheprocessofthehandmadefilmarebeingexpended, and its comprehensive media nature relies on the space and the audience.
